Well "Shiver me timbers" this was a vital match for Braeside, so "steady me woods" may be more appropriate, although some woods did shiver a little with the thought of quality competition and the importance of winning points. But we "fought the good fight"......this is not an evangelical call, just a prayer to see us through...

Trials complete and handshakes done,

and now the posing has begun.

Knees together or apart,

that's exactly how to start.

Hoody peaks and safari hats

pop up and down on all the mats,

The flash of multicoloured wood

surely means you must be good.......Enough of this, so here we go me luvlies!

Capt. Peter Knight, by the 3rd were 1-2 down, thereafter we took charge extending our lead from 5-2 on the 5th to 9-2 on the 6th. We took the next 3 ends making it 14-2 on the 9th. A further 8 shots on the next four ends sent Breaside into a commanding lead of 22-5 on the 15th. We then proceeded to drop the next 2 ends, win the 18th and lose the final 3 ends.

Final score: 23-13 Braeside win.

Team: Peter Knight, Trevor Sams, Barrie Vincent, Fred Micklewright.

Peter Barker, won 11 ends and were 10-3 up by the 6th, 14-6 by the 14th, 16-8 on the 13th. They dropped 6 on the next 3 ends but came back with a 3 on the 17th and a 5 on the 18th making it 25-14. A further 2 on the 19th made it 27-14 but then dropped 2 on the 20th but pulling back 1 on the 21st.

Final score: 28-16 Braeside win.

Team: Peter Barker, Brian Wrightson, Geoff Sheppard, Ray Rankine.

Neil Rogers, eased into the lead and were 8-3 up by the 5th. But Branksome had evened by the 7th to 8-8, continuing to add further ends up to the 15th to lead 11-15. By the 18th we had reduced the difference to 15-17 but could not improve on the last ends. This rink did well to keep the damage to a minimum.

Final score: 17-20 Branksome win.

Team: Neil Rogers, Colin Seale, John Phipps, Derek Baber.

Eric Lamb's team were struggling right from the off and were 3-5 down on the 7th, 3-10 on the 10th, and 5-17 by the 16th. Braeside pulled back a 2 on the 19th and a 3 on the 21st making the final score 11-29. This team did their best but were up against a strong Branksome team.

Final Score: 11-29 Branksome win.

Team: Eric Lamb, Peter Crocker, John Walsh, Martin Edwards.

Braeside enjoyed the company of Branksome and wish them well in the final few games.

Shots: 79 - 68

Points: 10 - 4 Braeside win.
